Pennsylvania isn’t the name that comes to mind when you mention casinos. Nevada or Vegas usually comes to mind when you mention casinos in the USA. But Pennsylvania has some casinos to offer too.

The Pocono Mountains area has one such venue known as the Mount Airy Casino. Besides catering to the needs of local and visiting casino fans, the casino also caters to the community. Recently, it donated a bunch of merchandise to several local charities. The donation is estimated to be worth $80,000.

A new casino project has several benefits to offer. The company behind it will rely on the local workforce to build the casino and the same locals would fill in the various job positions before the casino opens. Moreover, the casino might be a resort too which means locals would get more jobs.

Then you have the tax revenue that the state will get from the casino and the entertainment value. In other words, these casinos come with bars and restaurants for those guests that aren’t interested in casino games. Casinos like Mount Airy Casino continue to prove their worth to the community.

They might have the jobs filled up, but they still cater to casino players from the Pocono Mountains and abroad. They also take care of visitors that don’t like to play casino games. But they also take care of the community in other ways.

Recently, the casino donated various merchandise to a bunch of charities. Women’s Resources, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Habitat for Humanity are some of the charities that benefited from these donations. The donations came in the form of blankets, cookware, luggage, as well as first aid kits. It’s estimated that the donation is worth $80,000.

The officials of the charities have expressed their gratitude to the casino. On the other hand, you have casino officials who stated that when you’re part of a community, it means that you need to actively it in any way you can. They won’t stop their any time soon.
